Stationery sets the tone for your wedding celebration with the color story, attire, weekend itinerary.

The number one goal of your stationery is to communicate all of the important details, where to be, when to be there and how your guests should arrive.

The second most important role that your stationery plays is gathering your final guest count, which your vendors need 2-4 weeks in advance of your wedding festivities.

Finally, your stationery gets your guests excited! It’s a sneak peek of what to expect on the big day and a chance for you to get creative with how that is delivered. So…have fun with it!

Here are some helpful tips…

Attire: Bend the rules and get creative with your instructions to guests…Creative Black Tie, Smart Casual, Sunday’s Best, English Garden – Hats Encouraged

Etiquette: Get them in the mail 8 weeks in advance, enough time for you to get them back, record RSVPs and assign your guests’seating.

If you have a busy schedule, which many of us do, make sure that you have rocking and rollin’ to get these out…weigh your proof to double-check the amount of postage that you need, cross check your mailing list to make sure there are no update you need to make, pre-order stamps to coordinate with your invitation suite. USPS has some great options. Also, check with your stationery artist for a custom stamp with your invite artwork or favorite pet. OR check into vintage stamps, there are some amazing online vendors who has great inventory, as long as your postage adds up to the necessary amount the postman needs you’re good to go!

Lots of out-of-towners? Or planning a destination wedding?! Get those invite out a little earlier, and  definitely send a Save the Date. You can guide guests to your website for accommodation and travel updates. But remember,  it is important to mail your invites 10-12 weeks out so that guests can make travel arrangements.
